On 5 June 1917, Frederick Ward Boughan registered for the U.S. draft. He was 25 years of age, born 11 April 1892, and residing at 615 S. Pulaski in Balto., Md. He was a citizen of the United States, born in Essex County, Virginia. His occupation was carpenter, employed by Ed Winkler of Baltimore. He had a wife and children. He had not had any military service. Physically, he was tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and light hair, and he was not bald. [World War I Draft Registration card, roll 1684192.]
