Loretta Davis McDonnell, 92, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her home.
Born Saturday, September 1, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roland Madison Davis and the late Anna (Bangert) Davis.
She graduated from Patterson Park High School in Baltimore and attended Towson State College. She was Vice President of Citigroup for 28 years, retiring in 1992. After retirement she was employed with First Data Corp for 5 years. She was a very active member of St. James Catholic Church, Boonsboro and with the Adoration Chapel at St. Ann Catholic Church. Loretta cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacelyn McDonnell of Boonsboro, MD; son, Dr. Mark McDonnell III and wife, Dr. Marie Cepero of Lafayette, LA; two granddaughters, Elisabeth McDonnell of Brooklyn, NY and Margaret (Mollie) McDonnell of Seattle, WA; grandson, Mark F. McDonnell, IV of Lafayette, LA; and 2 faithful canine companions, Abbie and Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Francis McDonnell and brother, Roland J. Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 10:00 am, at the St. James Catholic Church, 121 North Main Street Boonsboro, MD, with the Rev. John Jicha officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Interment will be held privately at the Parkwood Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
