On 1 October 1834, John C Dally made purchases at the sale of the estate of Lydia Alexander. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 389.]
On 13 October 1834, John C Dalley and William Beazley were bound $150. The condition of the obligation is such that whereas a marraige is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between John C Dalley and Ann Beazley daughter of the said William Beazley, now if there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage then the obligation to the void. On 12 February 1835, John C. Dalley, in debt to R. L. Pitts $40 by bond, and to several other people, sells all his property to William Beazley. William Beazley then grants the use of the property to John Dalley. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 44, page 452.]
On 18 November 1835, in the case of John C Dalley, plaintiff, against Thomas A Boughton and A S Boughton, defendants, came the parties aforesaid by their Attorneys and in the motion of the defendants the Judgment obtained against them in the Clerks Office in this cause is set aside and the said defendants plead “payment” to which plea the plaintiff replies generally and issue being joined between the parties, thereupon this cause is Continued. On 21 December 1835, William Beazley and Washington H. Purkins were bound in the penalty of $200 for William Beazley’s administration of the estate of John C. Dalley, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, pages 433–434.]
On 21 November 1837, On the motion of William Beazley admor of John C Dalley decd It is Ordered that Leonard Henley and Mace Clements being first duly sworn and it [sic] state and settle said Beazleys account of administration of the Estate of John C Dalley decd and make report thereof to Court [Essex County, Virginia, Order Book 49, page 136.]
