He was unemployed for three months of the year; perhaps during this time he carried out his carpentry business. He rented a house in Tappahannock on Prince Street and lived alone.

The parents were John Gabriel Boughan and Georgia Anna Taylor, and James Fairfax Balderson and Arria Virginia Wilkerson. [Essex County, Virginia, Marriage Book 4, page 70.]

On 3 March 1955 in Tappahannock, Essex County, Virginia, George Thomas Boughan married Bierne Balderson Wachsmuth, whose maiden name was Bierne Balderson. He was 74, white, widowed, married once previously, occupation lumberman, born in Essex County, Virginia, father John Gabriel Boughan, mother Georgia Anna Taylor, residing in Tappahannock, Virginia; she was 60, white, widowed, married once previously, born in Essex County, Virginia, father James Fairfax Balderson, mother Arria Virginia Wilkerson, residing in Brays, Virginia. On 20 March 1963, George T. Boughan died at Plyler’s Nursing Home, 1615 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. He was male; 82; white; a usual resident of Tappahannock, Essex County, Virginia; father was John Gabriel Boughan; mother was Georg [sic] Anna Taylor; citizen of U.S.A.; married; wife was Bierne Wachsmuth Boughan; not a veteran; born in Essex County, Virginia on 27 May 1880; occupation lumberman for lumber dealer; informant Mrs. Bierne W. Boughan; cause of death acute pulmonary oedema (six hours) due to arteriosclerotic heart disease (two years) due to generalized arteriosclerosis (ten years); burial at Essex Cemetery, Tappahannock, Virginia.
