Thomas H. Dunn was a member of the 55th Virginia Infantry during the Civil War: Dunn, Thomas H.: Resident of Essex Co. Illiterate. Enl. 6/12/61 in Co. B, as a drummer. Transferred to Co. K, 5/1/62. Present for duty on every single survivng record through 12/31/64, final roll. Entered the R. E. Lee Camp Soldiers’ Home on 4/11/1906 and died there on 8/2/1911, aged 78.
