Catherine McTyre was mentioned in the 1795 will of her grandfather Josiah McTyre.

Catherine was mentioned in the 14 July 1795 will of Ann McTyre. “3dly should Caty McTyre daughter of Henry McTyre marry & have an heir, I Give to her & her heirs my negro Girl Fanny, & one feather bed & furniture but should she have no such heir after her decease, I give the said negro fanny & feather bed to my brother Thomas Hundley & his heirs forever, but in the meantime, tis my will & desire that sd Caty McTyre should have the benefits of sd negro fanny & bed & furniture during her natural life but the sd negro fanny to be under the management of my brother Tho: Hundley till sd Caty McTyre arrives to age or marries & the profits of sd negro to be applied to the use & maintainence of sd Caty McTyre.” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 194–195.]
