Rachel was mentioned in the last will and testament of her husband Stephen Munday of Essex County. To beloved wife Rachel Munday all my hold Estate Real and person during her widowhood. Presented in court and proved on 21 June 1784 by Merriday Brown. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, page 430.]

In the name of god amen, I Rachel Stokes in the parish of St. Anns & the County of Essex now being sick and weak in body but of perfect sense & memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner & form following Vizt. Item I lend to my daughter Fanny Munday during her natural life all the estate that I am now in possession of and after her decease I give it to her three sons, Josiah, Jonas, and Zachariah, I do appoint my son Benjamin H. Munday my executor to this my last Will and testament, as witness my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of August 1800. —
