On 27 March 1750, a John Daniel bound himself to John Lambuth of Gloucester County £122 current money to secure a lease and release. Signed John Daniel. Witnesses: Joseph Eastwood, William Eastwood, Thomas Houfley[?]. [Middlesex County, Virginia, Deeds Etc. 1687–1750, item #93.]

“He was a Justice in Louisa County, Virginia in 1771. He furnished supplies during the Revolution. With his wife, Susanna, he deeded land in Middlesex County, Virginia, May 27, 1750, reserving 20 feet square ‘where dead are buried.’ He left a will in Louisa County, Virginia. It reads as follows:

“In the name of God Amen. I John Daniel Senr. of the county of Louisa and Parish of Trinity being in perfect sound sense and memory do make this my last will and testament as follows: first, I give my soul to God that give it me and my body to a Christian burial at discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned.
“Item. I lend to my son John Daniel half of my estate during his life and then to return to the children of my daughter Susanna Anderson, but if my son John Daniel should have lawful issue then in that case I give it to him and his heirs forever.
“I also give the other half of my estate to the children of my daughter Susanna Andres to them and their heirs forever.
“I hereby do constitute and appoint my son John Daniel and my son in law Turner Anderson Executors of this my last will and testatment, disannulling all former wills.
“In conformation of which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty six.” Signed John Daniel. Witnesses: Vivion Daniel, George Quisenberry, Jane Quisenberry, Margaret Daniel. Proved in Louisa County court 12 June 1786.
