On 1 October 1754, “Maurice Smith is appointed Guardian to Anna Daniel Orphan of Garret Daniel decd, who together with James Daniel Entered into Bond for the said Orphan’s Estate, & acknowledged the same which is ordered to be recorded.” [Middlesex County, Virginia, Orders 1752–1758, page 218.]
