“He served in the Revolution as shown in pension application W10298. After his death, his widow married Curtis S. Brockman on July 28, 1840 and he died July 12, 1846. The widow then applied for a pension under the above number. He may have been the James Daniel who married Alice Finnel on April 8, 1798. He lived in Orange County, Virginia. His will was dated April 9, 1836; proved January 27, 1837 in Orange County, Virginia. His widow was still alive May 6, 1861.”
