Dinah was mentioned in the 4 June 1776 will of her step-father, Francis Brizendine, who called her his daughter-in-law. Proved 19 August 1776. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, pages 45-56.]
Diana was mentioned as Dianah Cheney in the 10 March 1786 will of her mother, Elizabeth Brizendine, who give her one third of her clothing. The will was proved on 16 June 1794. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 102.]
On 17 February 1794, William Dunn, B, and Diannah his wife of the parish of South Farnham and County of Essex sold to Thomas Wood Senior of the same. For £150, half part of that mill commonly called and known by the name of Dunn’s Mill, and also the dam, pond, land and running gear. Signed Wm Dunn, Diannah her + mark Dunn. To Caty Brizendine and her five daughters. To Randolph Brizendine. My friend and brother Randolph Brizendine to be executor. Signed Dinah her x mark Dunn. Witnesses: John Trible, Thomas Brooke. On 15 November 1813, Randolph Brizendine and Isaac Broocke were bound in the penalty of $300 for Randolph Brizendine’s execution of the last will and testament of Dinah Dunn, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 503–504.]
On 1 December 1813, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Dinah Dunn, deceased, was made by Jno. Trible, Vincent Ramsey, and Ludy Trible. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 70–71.]
