On 26 December 1895 in Essex County, Virginia, G. W. Taylor was married to S. Y. Muse. He was 27, single, born in Essex, living in Essex, son of Phil Taylor and Bettie Booker, occupation oysterman. She was 21, single, born in Essex, living in Essex, daughter of S. W. Y. Muse and S. J. Coates. [Essex County, Virginia, Marriage Register I, page 118.]
