On 4 December 1755, a William Edmondson cast votes for Colonel William Daingerfield and Colonel Francis Smith for burgesses of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 248–252.]

William Edmondson was mentioned in the 20 December 1757 will of his father Thomas Edmondson. William was to receive land in Orange County given to Thomas’s late wife Dorothy through the will of her father Colo William Todd, as well as land in Loudon County. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, pages 228–231.]

On 17 October 1758, an appraisal of the estate of Joseph Greenhill was given by Benja Allen, a William Edmondson and John Davis. Total valuation £232.15.5-1/2. William Dunn executor. Ordered recorded 17 October 1758. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, pages 134–135.]

On 16 December 1761, a division of the slaves of the estate of Thomas Edmondson was made by Edmd Pendleton for James Edmondson and Capt. Gabriel Throckmorton who had intermarried with Judith Edmondson. Recorded 21 December 1761: At the request of Mr James Edmondson executor of the last will and testament of Thomas Edmondson Gent deceased and of Capt Gabriel Throckmorton who intermarried with Judith a daughter of the said Thomas, I have this day divided the slaves of the said Thomas consisting of Forty seven, first into five equal parts, and then subdivided one of such parts into five other equal parts in order to allott to the said Judith her share thereof and her Share of the part divised to the son William Edmondson deceased according to the sd fathers Will…I then lotted the sd slaves so as to make each part as Nearly equal as might be without parting husbands From wives or mothers from young Children in which allottement The following slaves fell to the part of Mr Throckmorton and his said wife to wit…Made on 16 December 1761 by Edmd Pendleton.
