On 7 January 1702, Thomas Wood of the County of Essex, for the naturall Love & affection I have to my Grandchildren & for their furthur advancement & benefitt & Especially for and in Consideracon of the paymt of the sume 18:14:4 by them to be made unto William Cox of the sd County when they or any of them come to the age of one & twenty years, I give to my Grandsonn John Wood after my decease all my Land and plantation where I now live scituate in the County aforesd and on the branches of a great Swamp called or knowne by the Name of Pescataway Pakasone, Provided alwayes that if my GrandSonn John Wood do happen to dye without Issue then my Grandson Thomas Wood Shall have hold occupy the land, but if Thomas should die without heires then my Granddaugher Elizabeth Wood shall hold & enjoy the land, but if it soe happen shee die without Issue then William Cox of the abovesd County father in Law to my sd Grandchildren shall have & enjoy my sd Land & plantation in lieu of the sum of 18:14:4.
