William G. Hunter is mentioned in the 1787 will of his grandmother Ann Garnett. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 14, page 135.]
An undated bill of complaint states that Sarah Hunter died intestate leaving her only children William Hunter, James Hunter, Taliaferro Hunter, Muscoe Garnett Hunter, and Martha Taliaferro Hunter. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 14, item 14-K-48.]
On 15 September 1806, Muscoe G. Hunter and Taliaferro Hunter were bound in the penalty of $1,200 for Muscoe G. Hunter’s administration of the goods, chattels, and credits of William G. Hunter, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 430–431.]
On 18 July 1808, Taliaferro Hunter and Muscoe G. Hunter were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for Taliaferro Hunter’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of William Hunter, unadministered by Muscoe Garnett. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 81–82.]
