George W. Lee was mentioned in the 27 November 1801 will of his aunt, Mary Smith, proved 24 January 1803 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. [Westmoreland County, Virginia, Deeds and Wills 20, pages 418–419.]

On 6 September 1810, Geo. W. Lee witnessed the will of Reuben Noel of the County of Essex. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 463–464.]

George W. Lee was mentioned in the 1 August 1814 will of his brother, John P. Lee, proved on 15 August 1814. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 58–59.]

On 15 April 1822, Geo. W. Lee and Leonard Sale were bound in the penalty of $1,000 for Geo. W. Lee’s administration with the will annexed of the estate of John Lee, unadministered by Baldwin M. Lee, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 283.]

The will of George W. Lee was dated 3 October 1824. Niece Sukey Micou. Sister Mary Micou. Nephews John Hancock Micou, Albert Micou. Nieces Felicia Micou, Maria Micou. Children of late nephew Paul Micou. Signed Geo: W. Lee. Witnesses: James Hunter, David Pitts, Leod Sale. Proved 15 November 1824. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, pages 196–197.]

On 15 November 1824, John H. Micou, John W. Hoomes, Walter Bowie, William B. Matthews, John R. Matthews and Albert Micou were bound in the penalty of $16,000 for John H. Micou’s execution of the last will and testament of George W. Lee. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, page 90.]

On 19 January 1825, an inventory and appraisement of the estate of George W. Lee, deceased, was made by David Pitts, DW Pitts, and Leod. Sale. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, pages 257–270.]

The estate of George W. Lee in account with John H. Micou, executor, from 1824 to 1835 was ordered recorded on 22 November 1836. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 72–87.]

On 18 April 1836, Mary Micou, Susan S. Micou, Albert Micou, John M. Tupman and James Roy Micou Jr., were bound in the penalty of $11,000 for Mary Micou’s administration de bonis non with the will annexed of the estate of Paul Micou Senr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 8.]

On 24 October 1843, Albert Micou of legal age provided an affidavit at the Courthouse. That he was well acquainted with the estates of Paul Micou and George W. Lee. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 49, item 49-B-12.]
