Richard Jones was mentioned in the 5 February 1747 will of his father Richard Jones. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 8, pages 360–362.]
On 18 September 1750, Richard Jones, Wm Dunn and James Banks were bound £500 sterling for Richard Jones’s administration with the will annexed of Richard Jones. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 8, pages 362–363.]
On 18 August 1752, Francis Jones of the parish of southfarnham and County of Essex, Planter, and Barbara his wife sold to John Jones. For £19 current money, 66 acres, more or less, in the parish of southfarnham, his part of 200 acres devised by Richd Jones Late of the said County by his last will and testament to be equally divided between Ambrose Jones, Richd Jones and the said Francis Jones. Signed Francis Jones, Barbara her x mark Jones. Witnesses: John Piles, Thomas Haile, Parott Hardee. Recorded 18 August 1752. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 26, pages 108–109.]
This may be the Richard Jones who died in 1756/1757 leaving sons John, Benjamin, Richard and Adam; grandson John Page; and wife Mary. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 10, pages 120–121.]
