Armsted Brizendine was mentioned in the 4 June 1776 will of his father Francis Brizendine. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, pages 45–56.]
In a case that continued in 1804, Francis Brizendine sued for distribution of family estate: Orator Francis Brizendine is the eldest son of Francis Brizendine who left a will in 1776 and died in 1776, leaving a wife Elizabeth and other children Thomas Brizendine, Randolph Brizendine, Armsted Brizendine, Susanna Brizendine and Mary Bush. That Elizabeth died on 12 January 1794 without marrying again. That Susanna then married James Callicote. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 21, item 21-C-17.]
