In an undated petition, probably from the early 1830s, orator Thomas Haynes for his mother Fanny Haynes and his sisters Lucy Sutton and Dorothy Hoomes, complained that Anthony Haynes is his father, who is still living. Concerns land in King and Queen County. Martha T. who is the wife of Wm Smith was Martha T. Haynes. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 44, item 44-E-2.]
On 17 February 1834, Samuel H Stout and Thomas Haynes were bound in the penalty of $15,000 for Samuel H Stout’s administration of the estate of Henry Quarles. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 231.]
On 18 July 1836, both Orville Jeffries and Muscoe Garnett deposed in the office of George Wright in the Town of Tappahannock that they were acquainted with the land of Thomas Haynes and that it was depreciating in value. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 45, item 45-P-1.]
