On 26 November 1840, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Sarah Dix was made by Howard W Montague, Thomas Shearwood, Lewis Walden, and W. L. Lewis. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 597.]
On 18 March 1844, Zebulon M. P. Carter and Richard J. Muse were bound $2,000 for Zebulon M. P. Carter’s administration of the estate of Lewis Walden, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 25, page 226.]
The estate of Lewis Walden, deceased, in account with Z. M. P. Carter, adminsitrator, from 1843 to 1844 was ordered recorded on 15 April 1844. Includes distribution to Elizabeth Walden (one half) and one other half divided into four equal parts to Z. M. P. Carter in right of wife, John G.
