Otway was mentioned in the 14 July 1822 will of his father, Sthreshly Rennolds, proved 19 August 1822. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 313–316.]

On 17 December 1832, Otway Rennolds and Arthur F Rennolds were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for Otway Rennolds’s administration of the estate of Martha D Rennolds, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 12.]

On 20 December 1832, sales of the estate of Martha D Rennolds were made by Otway Rennolds on nine months credit. Included sales of Susan and child to Thomas M Henley, Nelly Jane to Carter Croxton, and Maria to David Pitts. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, pages 107–110.]

The estate of Martha D Rennolds, deceased, in account with Otway Rennolds, administrator, from 1832 to 1834, was ordered recorded on 16 June 1834. On 1 January 1834, includes equal payments to John Rennolds, Thomas Parker, Otway Rennolds, Arthur F Rennolds, Robert B Rennolds, Emily Rennolds, Louisa Rennolds, and Henry S Rennolds. On 24 November 1835, an inquisition was taken at the house of Henry A. Taylor, occupied by Thomas B. Martin, before Thomas Wright, coroner, upon the view of the body of Martin, a slave belonging to the estate of John Rennolds, deceased, hired by the said Henry A. Taylor, and upon the oaths of Warner Lewis, James Owen, Philip Coleman, Otway Rennolds, Arthur F. Rennolds, Richard Beazley, Jonathan Latham, Richard T. Hundley, Jackson Dyke, George Skelton, Green Coleman, and Richard Motley, they do say that the said Martin came to his death by being accidentally caught in the machinery of a mill. On 24 December 1839, Ann H. Johnson sold to Otway Rennolds a tract of land in Westmoreland County containing 161 acres more or less. [Westmoreland County, Virginia, Deeds and Wills 30, page 199.]

On 20 December 1850, Thomas Parker and Susan R. Parker his wife of Westmoreland County sold to Robert B. Rennolds and Otway Rennolds of Essex County, for $360, a parcel of land consisting of two acres near the Westmoreland Court House. [Westmoreland County, Virginia, Deeds and Wills 34, pages 57–58.]

On 21 December 1850, Otway Rennolds and Malvina Rennolds his wife sold to Thomas M. W. Cole for $500 a tract of land in Westmoreland County containing 161 acres. [Westmoreland County, Virgnia, Deeds and Wills 33, pages 413–415.]

On 5 February 1857, Otway Rennolds and Malvina his wife and Robert B. Rennolds and Caroline his wife of the first part sold to William Sayre of the second part. For $800, a parcel in Westmoreland County near the courthouse containing two acres more or less, it being the land which Thos. Parker bought from Robert P. Andrews and wife.
