Ann was mentioned in the 7 January 1777 will of her father, Robert Hunley, proved on 17 August 1778. “Item My Will and desire is that my four Daughters Sally Ann Mary Frances receive five pounds a piece after the death of my loving Wife or before if they should be in need. Item My Will and desire is that all my Negroes after the decease of my loving Wife shall be allotted and equally divided amongst all my Children (Viz) John Thomas Elizabeth Salley Ann Mary and Frances … All the residence of my Estate … I leave to be equally divided amongst all my above said Children (Viz) John Thomas Elizabeth Salley Ann Mary Frances.” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, page 190.]

In the name of God amen: I Ann McTyre of the County of Essex & parish of south farnham being sick & weak but in perfect mind & recollection do make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following Viz: 1st I give unto my brother John Hundley one cow & two heifers 2dly I give unto my niece Frances Hundley daughter of John Hundley my Mare & Spining [sic] Wheel. 3dly should Caty McTyre daughter of Henry McTyre marry & have an heir, I Give to her & her heirs my negro Girl Fanny, & one feather bed & furniture but should she have no such heir after her decease, I give the said negro fanny & feather bed to my brother Thomas Hundley & his heirs forever, but in the meantime, tis my will & desire that sd Caty McTyre should have the benefits of sd negro fanny & bed & furniture during her natural life but the sd negro fanny to be under the management of my brother Tho: Hundley till sd Caty McTyre arrives to age or marries & the profits of sd negro to be applied to the use & maintainence of sd Caty McTyre. 4th I Give unto my brother Thomas Hundley my negroes James & John & all the rest of my Estate of every kind & descripton not heretofore given — lastly I do appoint my brother Thomas Hundley exor of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made — In Witness where of I have hereunto put my hand & affixed my seal this fourteenth day of July — one thousand seven hundred & ninety five

On 20 October 1795 presented in court by Thomas Hundley and proved by Wm Peary and Henry Hundley. Certificate granted to the executor in order to his obtaining probate.

On 20 October 1795, Thomas Hundley was granted executorship of the estate of Ann McTyre deceased. Thomas Hundley and Charles Howerton acknowledge their bond in the penalty of £200. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 195.]
