William was mentioned in the 13 October 1798 will of his brother, Robert Payne Waring, proved on 17 June 1799. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 457–461.]

On 23 October 1799, administration with the will annexed of the estate of Robert Payne Waring was granted to William Latane. William Latane and William Waring Senior acknowledge their bond in the penalty of $20,000. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 503.]

The will of William Waring was dated 12 January 1815. Sister Katy Gardner. Niece Catherine R. Latane. Nephew Thomas Fauntleroy. David, William Susan, Rosetta, Maria, Arthur and Hall, children of Anca Vessels. Nephew Robert Payne Waring to be executor. Signed Wm Waring Jr. Witnesses: Robert Beverley, Henry Waring, Chas A. L. Lewis. Proved 16 January 1815 and further proved 20 February 1815. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 104–105.]
