On 20 June 1803, Elizabeth Bray, Carter Croxton, and Major Boughan were bound in the penalty of $10,000 for Elizabeth Bray’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Charles Bray, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 219.]
On 15 June 1806, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Charles Bray was submitted to court by Wm. Howard and Jos. Wood, stating that a third administrator, John Turner, participated in the inventory and appraisal but died before it could be signed. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 4–6.]
