Asa was mentioned in the 25 September 1815 will of his father, Asa Gouldman, proved 18 November 1816. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 338.]

On 22 May 1837, Asa Gouldman witnessed the will of Richard Gouldman, and proved the will in court on 18 January 1841. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 566–567.]

On 15 March 1841, Asa Gouldman and Lewis Rennolds were bound $800 for Asa Gouldman’s administration of the estate of Margaret Gouldman, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 578.]
