On 18 September 1815, Amos Newhall, Thomas Trice and Thomas Jessee jr were bound in the penalty of $4,000 for Amos Newhall’s administration with the last will and testament of the goods, chattels and credits of Mary Montague, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 209.]

On 26 December 1815, sales of the estate of Mary Montague, deceased, were made by Amos Newhall, administrator. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 325–326.]

The estate of Mary Montague, deceased, in account with Amos Newhall, administrator, from 1816 to 1818 was settled by Henry Street, Jno. Saddler, and Geo. M. Hundley, and returned to court 19 August 1822. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 327–328.]

On 19 January 1835, Chauncey G Griswold and James Roy Micou Jr were bound in the penalty of $500 for Chauncey G Griswold’s administration of the estate of Amos Newhall. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 317.]
