Lewis was mentioned in the 3 August 1810 will of his father, James Allen senior. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 72–73.]
On 21 November 1814, Lewis Allen, Lewis Dix, Henry W Latane and Warner Lewis were bound in the penalty of $12,000 for Lewis Allen’s administration with the will annexed of the estate of James Allen Senr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 73.]
On 20 March 1815, Thomas L. Latane and Warner Lewis were bound in the penalty of $4,000 for Thomas L. Latane’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Lewis Allen. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 136.]
