Peter Broocke was mentioned in the 15 September 1820 will of his father, William Broocke, proved 20 November 1820. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 150–151.]

On 20 November 1820, Peter Broocke, Lewis Seward, Lewis Broocke, Joseph Janey, and Peter B. Davis were bound in the penalty of $25,000 for Peter Broocke’s, Lewis Seward’s and Lewis Broocke’s executorship of the estate of William Broocke, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 151.]

On 11 November 1831, John Trible, Richard H. Harwood, Smith Young, William Smith senr., James Durham, William S. Croxton, Moses Crow, Francis G. W. Smith, Hundley Moody, Mace Clements, Richard T. Hundley and Peter Broocke served in an inquiry on the death of “Thornton, a negro boy slave the property of Addison Glascock”, that “a certain person unknown did kill and murder the said Thornton, by inflicting several blows upon his head”. The will of Peter Broocke was dated 26 December 1831. All estate to beloved wife during her natural life, and after her death all personal estate to my surviving daughters. After my wife’s death, house and land, which is called Hermitage, to son William L. Broocke. Wife to be executrix, and brother-in-law Amos Cauthorn, Mr. William Oliver or my friend Dr. Jones C. Clopton to assist her. Signed Peter Broocke. Witnesses: Geo. W. Shelton, A. S. Boughton, Thos Durham. Proved 16 January 1832. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 370–372.]

On 16 January 1832, Jones C Clopton and William Oliver were bound in the penalty of $10,000 for Jones C Clopton’s administration of the estate of Peter Broocke, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 372–373.]
