The will of William D. Rennolds of the County of Essex was dated 29 September 1830. Captain Reuben L. Pitts to be executor. After debts paid, the balance of estate to my dear mother. Signed William D Rennolds. Witnesses: Arthur F Rennolds. Proved 18 July 1831. Reuben L. Pitts refuses executorship, whereupon Martha D Rennolds is granted a certificate in order to obtain letters of administration. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, page 318.]
