Fenton Hunter was mentioned in the 17 June 1834 will of D. W. Pitts, proved 17 July 1837. “Whatever Mrs Grace F Hunter owes me, I leave to her daughter Fenton Hunter.” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 139–140.]
The will of Grace Fenton Hunter Jr of the County of Essex and State of Virginia was dated 7 October 1839. My mother Grace Fenton Hunter to be sole executrix, to whom entire estate is bequeathed. Signed Grace Fenton Hunter Jr. Witnesses: Theodore S Garnett, Maria H Garnett, Eliza L Garnett. On 19 October 1840, proved by Theodore S Garnett and Maria H Garnett.
