The estate of William Croxton, deceased, in account with Philip Croxton, administrator, from 1814 to 1828 was ordered recorded on 17 November 1828. Division of the remaining estate by Lawrence Muse on 15 September 1828 into equal fifths of $86.11-3/4 each to Richard Croxton, Isaac Croxton’s heirs, James Croxton Senr., Philip Croxton, and Ann Croxton who married James Croxton. Isaac Croxton left two children Harriett & Elizabeth. Harriett married Philip Brooks & is entitled to 1/2 of her Father’s portion & Elizabeth the other half. Philip Croxton was mentioned in the 30 January 1838 will of his mother, Catherine Dunn, proved 18 March 1839. "2dly after the payment of my just debts & funeral expenses I give to my son Philip Croxton one fourth part of ninety six acres of land, lying & being in the County of Essex … lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Philip Croxton and my grand son William Croxton executors of this my last Will and Testament”. On 18 March 1839, Philip Croxton and James Croxton were bound in the penalty of $3,000 for Philip Croxton’s execution on the estate of Catharine Dunn, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 368–369.]
