Elizabeth Hammons was mentioned in the 18 September 1837 will of her brother, Barton Meador, proved 19 February 1838. I lend to Vincent Gordon my Nephew all lands, and to his heirs if he has any, but if not then it should go to my sister Elizabeth Hammons during her life and then to her children. I lend to my two sisters Elizabeth Hammons and Catharine Brooks all my personal estate during their lives, and then to the children of my Sister Elizabeth.
