On 3 May 1796, William Burke and Lucy his wife and Thomas Burke, of the parish of south farnham and County of essex of the one part sold to John Boughan and Major Boughan of the same parish and county of the second part. For £100 in gold and silver current money of Virginia, one parcell of land in the parish of So: Farnham containing 100 acres more or less, begining at a white Oak a Corner between this Land, the land of the above named John Boughan and in the line of the land now held by John Chenault and formerly the land of John Burke now decd, thence down a small branch according to the meanders of the stream through its several courses being the line between this land and the lands of the said John Boughan, to the main run of the piscataway creek, thence down the said creek according to the meanders thereof till it strikes the line of five acres conveyed by John Harper to James Boughan decd, thence along the line of the sd five acres to the main roads leaving from Piscataway old Mill Bridge to Tappa. thence along then said Roads till it strikes the line of John Chenaults thence along the said Chenaults line to the begining it being the same tract of land whereon John Kercherval formerly lived & was purchased by the said Thomas and William Burke from John Griggs, to whom it descended as heir at law to his father John Griggs.
