Mary was mentioned in the 16 September 1780 will of her grandfather, John Nalle, proved 19 August 1782. “Item I give and bequeath to my son William Nalle Ten Shilling. Also to his son John Nalle son of my son William Nalle & Susanna his wife, one Negroe Girl Named Fanny to him and his Heirs for Ever. also to Mary Nalle Daughter to my Son William Nalle and Susanna his Wife one Negroe Girl Named Lucy to her and her Heirs for Ever If Either of my two Grand Children die without Lawful Heirs of their Body then their Part to be Equally devided amongst the Rest of my Son William Nalles Children then Living” [Culpeper County, Virginia, Mixed Records Volume B, pages 519–522.]
