On 17 June 1735, Patrick Bolen and Katherine his wife and John Turbett of the County of Spotsylvania sold to Thomas Burke of the County of Essex and parish of Southfarnham. For 500 pounds of tobacco and £8 cash, 150 acres. “Being part of a tract of three hundred acres purchased by Richard Kempe and Elianer his wife of Christ Church parish in the County of Middlesex and Robert Deputy and Elizabeth his wife as by their deed bearing date the 10th July Anno Dom 1703 appeareth and conveyed by the aforesd Richard Kemp and Elianor his wife to the aforesd Katherine as by the sd Kemps deed dated June ye 5th Anno Dom 1705 doth fully appear formerly granted by pattent to John Gregory and Hugh Meads dated the forth of October AnnoDom 1676 and by John Soaper to Hugh Meads by the sd Soapers deed dated the sixth day of April 1667 and bounded according to the Several Courses bounds and lines of mark’t trees or other bound aries in the aforesd pattent …”Signed Patrick his P mark Bolen, Katherine her P mark Bolen, John Talbett [note that throughout the document the name is Turbett].
