DELANO, Pollyanna Boughan, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. She was a retiree of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Polly lived her life in Essex County and was a lifetime member of Howertons Baptist Church, where she served actively as a Sunday School teacher, missions leader and director of Christmas projects. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvert H. Delano; her granddaughter, Nicole B. Marion; and son-in-law, Jerry R. Marion. She is survived by her children, Carol Ann and Terry Neist, Betty Page and Jack Weiss, Faye and Wayne King, Bobby and Ellen Delano, Kenny and Patricia Delano, Sandra Marion and Rodney Delano; her brother, Joseph E. Boughan Jr. and his wife, Angie; 14 grandchildren, Lindsay Neist, Stacey Weiss, Shannon Shea, Archie King, Jessie King, Bradley King, Casey Thrift, Beth Lopez, Brandon Delano, Joseph Delano, Billie Joe Delano, Ashley Delano, K.D. Delano and Christopher Marion; 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Howertons Baptist Church, Dunnsville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock.
