On September 28 1946 at 3:00 p.m., Mrs. Florence Estelle Boughan died at Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, James City County, Virginia. She had been hospitalized for five days; usual place of residence Essex County; female; white; widowed; name of husband Charles Roland Boughan; born 26 May 1876; age at death 70 years, 4 months, 2 days; born in Baltimore, Maryland; occupation housewife; father was William W. Wode, born in Baltimore, Maryland; mother was Carrie Cook, born in Baltimore; buried at [illegible] on 1 October 1946; cause of death pulmonary edema due to coronary sclerosis. She is buried at Ephesus Baptist Church at Dunnsville, Virginia. There is a four-grave headstone marked Boughan that has Father Thomas, 1848-1921; Mother Mary, 1847-1938; Husband Roland, 1872-1945; and Wife Florence, 1876-1946.
