On 10 November 1912, Nannie Gay Brooks was born in King and Queen County, Virgnia, at Carlton’s Store post office. She was female, first child, parents were married. Father was John Woodie Brooks, white, 24 at the time of birth, born in Essex County, Virginia. Mother was Dorinda Ann Brizendine, white, 18 at the time of birth, born in Essex County, Virginia. He was a mechanic. His parents were Joe and Laura Croxton Davis; hers were Jno. W. and Annie Brizende [sic] Brooks. M. F. Roberts performed the ceremony.
