Irene Louise Kopp Moore said that family history says that Laura Bell Croxton was adopted. Pearl Irene Davis Kopp confirmed this on 26 December 1991, but it was difficult to determine from her just what the relationship was. She called Laura Bell’s brothers and sisters in her family half-brothers and half-sisters. She said that Laura Bell’s surname was not Croxton, but that that was the only name she used. On 25 November 2005, her daughter Virginia confirmed this, and said that Laura Bell had been born in the Norfolk area. Ryland Davis, however, strong disagreed with th suggestion that Laura was adopted. In 1941, a delayed certificate of birth for her son Allie Christian Davis gave her birthplace as Ino, in King and Queen County.
