Celebrated his 73rd birthday. - Mr. Ferdinand Schneider of Nr. 1740 Canton Ave., celebrated on Monday his 73rd birthday by a trip to "Walnut Grove" held by his friends in honor at Bear Creek. The participators left Baltimore in a large bus, and on the way back stopped at the "River-View-Wharf.” Among the participants were the H.H. Ferdinand Schneider, Julius Meister, Geo. Beidenstöfer, Chas. L. Man, City Council member William B. Smith, Fred. J. Schneider, Jacob Kern, Ferdinand Behr, William F. Inglart August Meyer, Fred. Schneider and Elmer Schneider.

Party On His Birthday.
A surprise party was given to Mr. Louis Rice in honor of his birthday on Wednesday evening at the Monumental Pleasure Club, at Turner’s Station. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated. The evening was spent in singing and dancing. A solo was rendered by Mr. “Mike” Krouse. A repast was served. The table was decorated with a canopy of red, white and blue bunting and holly. A cakewalk was given by Mr. George Herfel and Miss Ella Turner and Mr. Herfel and Mr. Smith.

On 11 October 1936, Frederick J. Schnieder died at his residence, 1740 Fleet Street, in Baltimore City, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore on 2 August 1861 and had lived in the city his entire life. He was aged 75 years, 1 month, 9 days. Occupation tinsmith. Date last worked in his occupation was 1934, total time spent in the occupation 60 years. Father was Ferdinand Schneider, born in Germany; mother was Anna Woelfel, born in Germany. Information provided by Mrs. Annie Behr, sister, of 1740 Fleet Street. Buried in Baltimore Cemetery on 14 October 1936. Cause of death was multiple fractures of [illegible] and shock, from an accident on 11 October 1936 on a highway, struck by automobile while crossing street. Frederick Schneider Is Killed While Crossing Eastern Avenue
Frederickc Schneider, president of the Monumental Democratic Club, was killed early this morning when struck by an automobile while crossing Eastern avenue at Conkling street.
Two automobile fatalities on the Eastern Shore were reported by police late yesterday, to bring the death toll on Maryland highways since Friday to five. Mr. Schneider’s death raised the toll to six. Scores were injured throughout the State meanwhile, in crashes attributed to rain-drenched roads and streets.
At 12.20 A. M. Mr. Schneider of 1740 Fleet street, was knocked down by an automible [sic] operated, police said, by William H. Staton, a private at Fort George C. Meade. He took Mr. Schneider to City Hospitals, where he died at 1.05 A. M.
Staton, who is 28, had two other Fort Meade soldiers in his machine. He was taken to Eastern police station by Patrolmen George A. Gluck and Joseph C. Albert.

SCHNEIDER.—Suddenly, on October 11, 1936, FREDERICK J., beloved son of the late Ferdinand and Anna Schneider.

A death notice in The Evening Sun (Baltimore) stated:
Funeral services were being held today for Frederick J. Schneider, president of the Monumental Democratic Club and one of the oldest residents of East Baltimore. The funeral was being held from the home at 1740 Fleet street, where Mr. Schneider had lived for seventy years. He was 75 years old.
Mr. Schneider was fatally injured in an automobile accident at Eastern avenue and Conkling street last Saturday.
Attending the funeral were many persons prominent politically, among them Mayor Howard W. Jackson, George Sellmayer, William Curran and members of the City Council.
Mr. Schneider was being buried in the Baltimore Cemetery.
He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Anna Behr, Mrs. Elizabeth Inglart, Mrs. Catherine Thomas and Mrs. Minna Barnes. [The Evening Sun (Baltimore), 14 October 1936.]
