Mrs. Keene was well-known in Vicksburg, where she spent the majority of the years of her long life, coming here at 7 years of age and leaving here about twelve years ago. The deceased was the widow of Dennis W. Kenne, who died here in 1876, and was the mother of Clarence Keene and Berta Keene McCue, both of whom died some years ago. She was the daughter of Capt. Fountain Wood, who was among the early settlers of Vicksburg. Mrs. Keene is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Annie K. Barret and Miss Edna Keene, both of Louisa, Va. She was a lady of much sweetness and gentleness of disposition, and her loss means much sorow [sic] to those who knew her.
