A case was in chancery court beginning by 21 August 1797, with Rowzee, Catharine, Milley, Henry and Elizabeth Boughan, infants under the age of 21 years by John Boughan their next friend, plaintiffs, against Augustine Boughan, defendant. This case was continued through 1798. [Essex County, Virginia, Order Book 34, pages 77 and 231.]
On 6 December 1805, Mildred Boughan of Baltimore, Maryland sold property to William Waring. Witnesses included R. R. Boughan and Aug. Boughan (who delivered the money). The deed indicates that Mildred Boughan was the daughter of Griffing Boughan. Mildred signed her name. There is a deposition attached by Thorowgood Smith, the Mayor of Baltimore, certifying that Mildred is a resident of Baltimore, dated 27 December 1805.
