John Daniel was mentioned in the 27 February 1722 will of his father William Daniel. He received a share of a tract of land, a share in a feather bed, and a share of a slave named Kate, and was named an executor. [Middlesex County, Virginia, Will Book B, 1713–1734, pages 267–268.]

“He was the second son of William Daniel to have the name of John. His death is froma record of his will as it appears in the order of probate in Middlesex County, Virginia. The old will is gone and the book of record is not to be found. In the order Henry Nixon, his brother-in-law, was executor.”
