On 24 May 1710, Richard Daniell of the County of Middlesex sold to John Smith and James Smith of the County of Middlesex. For 5 pounds 10 shillings sterling, 8-1/2 acres of land, part of 115 acres sold to William Daniell by Cuttbird Potter now belonging to Richard Daniell. “The will of Richard Daniel was dated February 27, 1726/7; proved in court 1727 in Essex County, Virginia. It mentions son, William - may old plantation that was my father’s, after his mother’s decease; wife, Eliza Daniel, children, Judith, Eliza, Jochebed and Richard. Executors: Captain George Wortham and brother, James Daniel. Witnesses: James Hipking, Hugh Williams, and Mary Hipking. Elizabeth (Wortham) Daniel Smith left her will in Middlesex County, Virginia. She left property to her grandchildren, also to her son, Richard, who was to be executor until William Daniel became of age.”
