On 1 April 1755, “Robert Daniel is appointed surveyor of the Road leading from Gryme’s Mill (and Massey Yarrington is discharged) It is therefore ordered that the said Robert with the usual Titheables belonging thereto do keep the same in repair according to Law” [Middlesex County, Virginia, Orders 1752–1758, page 247.]

On 4 September 1755, “Sarah Blake orphan of John Blake decd dame into Court & chose Robert Daniel her Guardian & thereupon the said Robert together with Thos Price gent his security entered into Bond according to Law, & in open Court acknowledged the sd Bond to be their act & Deed which is thereupon ordered to be recorded” [Middlesex County, Virginia, Orders 1752–1758, page 232.]

On 2 November 1757, “Robert Daniel gent. pursuant to a Commission from under the hand of the Honorable Robert Dinwiddie Esqr his majesties Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of this Colony appointing him Captain of a Company of Souldiers in this County took the oaths prescribed by Law and made and subscribed the Declaration & Test” [Middlesex County, Virginia, Orders 1752–1758, page 481.]
