On 11 May 1753, a William Roane was named in the will of James Jones of Southfarnham Parish and Essex County as an executor of the will. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 9, pages 317–320.]

On 29 July 1753, a Major Wm Roane was named in the will of George Coleman of South Farnham Parish, Essex County, as co-executor of the will. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 9, pages 260–261.

On 20 November 1753, a William Roane, Dinah Coleman, Richard Upshaw and Thomas Dix were bound £200 sterling for William Roane’s and Dinah Coleman’s execution of the last will and testament of George Coleman. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 9, pages 262–263.]

On 4 December 1755, a Major Wm. Roane received four votes, including that of Ephm. Pagett, in a vote of freeholders for burgesses of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 248–252.]

On 15 June 1756, a William Roane witnessed a deed from John Upshaw of the Parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex to Philip Gatewood of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 217–220.]

On 17 November 1757, a William Roane of the Parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex, Gentleman, wrote a will mentioning sons Thomas, William and John, daughters Mary Ritchie, Sarah Roane and Lucy Roane, and loving wife Sarah Roane. Signed WRoane. Witnesses: Jno Clements, John Upshaw, James Upshaw. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, pages 28–30.]

On 17 December 1759, James Edmondson, a William Roane, John Roane and John Latane were bound £10,000 for James Edmondson’s execution of the last will and testament of Thomas Edmondson. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, page 232.]

On 22 April 1769, a WRoane witnessed the will of John Farguson of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 12, pages 82–83.]

A William Roane was named a co-executor in the 6 June 1791 will of Hugh Campbell of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 14, page 257.]
