The will of Sally Campbell of Essex County was written 18 January 1809. Son Hugh Campbell, grandson James Roy. Signed Sally Campbell. Witnesses: Reuben Garnett, Spencer Graves. Proved 21 May 1810. Bond follows. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 172–174.]
On 21 May 1810, Hugh Campbell and Archibald Ritchie were bound in the penalty of $3,000 for Hugh Campbell’s execution of the last wil and testament of Sally Campbell, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, page 173–174.]
