Lewis Booker, with John Trible and James Jones, divided the estate of Samuel Doggins by order of 23 May 1798. Recorded 17 June 1817. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 418–419.]

On 22 January 1813, a division of the slaves of the estates of Luke Covington, deceased, and of Sarah Covington, deceased, was made by F. Smith, Chs. Howerton, and Jno. Smith, with lots to Richard Covington, Thomas Covington, John Trible in right of his deceased wife who was Elizabeth Covington, and to Philip Mann in right of his wife who was Ann Covington. An additional child of Luke Covington, Gregory Covington, is now deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will book 18, pages 37–39.]

On 4 May 1815, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Catharine Cauthorne was made by Jno Trible, Kemp Gatewood and Traverse Gatewood. Recorded 15 July 1816. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 294–295.]

John Trible was named executor in the 31 December 1814 will of Randolph Brizendine, as his friend. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 388–389.]

In an undated petition, orators and oratrices John Mann, Elizabeth Mann, Nancy Mann, Judy and Augusta Mann the said Judy and Augusta the only children of Thomas Mann deceased and infants by Jno Trible their next friend, complained that John Mann died in _____ 1815 testate. Philip Mann qualified as executor of the estate. Nancy is the widow of Thomas Mann who died in the lifetime of John Mann. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 45, item 45-C-29.]

On 20 May 1811, Jno Trible, John Smith and Francis Smith settled the estate of Hannah Allen in account with James Cauthorn from 1809 to 1811. Ordered recorded 17 June 1817. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 429–433.]

On 16 December 1822, the estate of William Edmondson was recorded, settled by Kemp Gatewood, John Trible, and Saml Muse. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 344–346.]

On 17 November 1823, Ann Mann, John Trible, George Wright and Washington Mann were bound $24,000 for Ann Mann’s administration of the goods, chattles and credits of Philip Mann deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will book 19, pages 417–418.]

On 16 February 1824, Ann Mann’s administration of the goods, chattles and credits of Philip Mann was restored. Ann Mann, Washington Mann, John Trible and George Wright were bound $24,000 for Ann’s administration. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 422, and Will Book 20 page 19.]

On 18 October 1824, John Trible and Vincent Ramsey were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for John Trible’s execution of the last will and testament of Randolph Brizendine, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, pages 78–79.]

On 11 November 1831, John Trible, Richard H. Harwood, Smith Young, William Smith senr., James Durham, William S. Croxton, Moses Crow, Francis G. W. Smith, Hundley Moody, Mace Clements, Richard T. Hundley and Peter Broocke served in an inquiry on the death of “Thornton, a negro boy slave the property of Addison Glascock”, that “a certain person unknown did kill and murder the said Thornton, by inflicting several blows upon his head”. Orators and oratrices James Trible, Andrew Hundley and Nancy his wife, George M. Trible, Smith Young and Margaret K. his wife, Fielding D. Piggott and Eliza his wife, William R. G. Trible and John S. Trible complained to the Chancery Court. That John Trible the father of your orators and oratrices died on 20 September 1844 also leaving the following other children: Peter and Austin M. Trible, Emily Covington wife of Richard L. Covington, Eliza Kemper, John, Selah, Summerfield, Franklin & Frances Holbrook children of Frances Hollrook, the said Frances being a daughter of John Trible deceased.
