William Peachey was mentioned in the 1767 will of his grandfather John Webb. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 12, page 268.]

The will of William Peachey was written 21 January 1803. Negroe man slave Jack I set free, to him during his natural life my bay horse, 25 acres of land next to where Mr. Charles Browne now lives, and £100 if necessary to guarantee his freedom. At the death of Jack, that land to friends William Fleet and James Pendleton and their heirs in trust for the exclusive benefit of my sister Jane Armistead, and after her death to her daughter, should she outlive her mother. Rest of estate to three sisters Winnefred [here what looks like a half-written name starting with a T, earlier my earlier notes say Armistead, so possibly there are two copies of this will book], Elizabeth Pendleton, and Catharine Ryland. “Should my said sister Jane return to live with her husband Major Thomas Armistead, that during her residence with her said husband the use of the property above, vested in my trustees, shall be exclusively applied to the benefit of the above noticed daughter of my Sister Jane.” William Fleet and James Pendleton to serve as executors.
