Fanny Cole was mentioned in the 11 October 1785 will of her mother Frankey Cole. She was to receive one feather bed and furniture, a dark Bay mare and a saddle and bridle. She and her sister Lucy were to receive other profits from the estate as they came of age. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 1.]

On 18 September 1826, Fanny Cole and Kemp Gatewood were bound in the penalty of $100 for Fanny Cole’s administration of the estate of Lucy Cole. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 21, pages 20–21.]
